BADCP 2002 - 2003 was the first version with a solid, five-member lineup (BAD, Headquarters, CMoon, EightOne, and Eight Rooks). BADCP was on tour, covering games from all over the place. This version had notable shooting game coverage ranging from the notorious Gunbird 2 and the underrated Silpheed: The Lost Planet, to timeless Cave classics ESPRade and Guwange. BADCP had a deep appreciation for art since the beginning, but this was the first version to have features based solely on artwork ("The Art Of Marvel Super Heroes VS Street Fighter" and "The Art Of Plasma Sword"). By this time, most of us had done justice to the fighters and shooters we felt were closest to our hearts. There was a ton of content and work put into BADCP 2002-2003, and the positive reception was well-worth it... [ 03/18/03 ] = I Heart OLs

Like BADCP 2000-2002, a lot was put into the screenshots for BADCP. We saw that much bigger sites than ours (with even more to work with) had boring, low-resolution screenshots obscured by things like pause menus. We didn't want that. We felt that stuff didn't just make sites look bad, it makes the games themselves look bad. This drove us to continue to use the highest-quality screenshots we could. No resolution or color depth was sacrificed (so the reader could see the featured game as it was meant to be seen), and our choreography showed every title at its absolute best. BADCP could have been criticized in contrast to more "dynamic" site designs, but there was little to no comparison when it came to screenshots; the choreography, resolution, and color depth was unrivaled. There was a part here that listed our most-played titles. Everybody saw the same shit over and over in "now playing" magazine editor lists, so we made our own just to show that other games are being played out there (in addition to the ones we devoted articles to). Side Arms, DoDonpachi Dai Ou Jou, Virtua Fighter 4, and Guilty Gear XX were on that list, along with other titles like EcoFighters and ESPRade. Both King Of Fighters EX games were high on that list, of course... [ 07/29/01 ] = GameCube Hysteria
